Learning Disabilities Support Officer

Job Description

Pay:                            £495 a month (£11 per hour)

Contract terms:      Fixed to 30 November 2020

Hours of work:        5 hours a day, includes a paid lunch hour (hours and days worked can be flexible up to 9 days each month)

These hours of work can be job shared

Benefits:                   13 days’ annual leave (this includes an allowance for bank holidays)

Location:                  Office based at the Kingston Quaker Centre with travel throughout Kingston

 We are looking for someone who can:

  • Help tell people about Healthwatch Kingston
  • Help check NHS and social care services are working for people with learning disabilities
  • Talk to people about what they think about the NHS and social care services in Kingston and work with Scott to report what people say
  • Make sure Healthwatch Kingston’s information is easy to understand
  • Support Scott to run the Kingston All Age Learning Disability Partnership Board meetings
  • Work with Scott to run the Healthwatch Kingston Learning Disability Task Group meetings
  • Help encourage people living with a learning disability, their families and carers to become Healthwatch Kingston volunteers.

 We are looking for someone who is:

  1. Living with a learning disability (includes Autism or Asperger’s)
  2. Happy talking with people in different situations
  3. A good listener and note taker
  4. Able to work in an office and with a computer
  5. Able to help look at local NHS and social care services and say what you think.
