Healthwatch Kingston upon Thames is the consumer champion for health and social care in Kingston upon Thames. It gives the community a strong voice to influence and challenge how local care services are designed and run, and the power to hold providers of local health and social care to account.
You will gather the views and experiences of people who use NHS and social care, through planning and delivering a programme of outreach and engagement activities. For many people the Projects and Outreach Officer will be the first contact they have with Healthwatch, so a key aspect of this role will be to promote the organisation by explaining what Healthwatch is and encouraging people to join the organisation.
You will work with the Chief Officer, other Projects and Outreach Officers and Task Groups to identify and work on projects to find out the views of patients, service users and their carers that require further investigation. The Projects and Outreach Officer will recruit, support and supervise a part-time Learning Disabilities Officer, along with a team of volunteers. Our work is challenging and constantly evolving so the ability to pick up new skills and approaches, adapt and find pragmatic solutions is essential.
As part of a small organisation based in an active community centre, you will be involved in a wide range of tasks and work with diverse community groups.
