About this event

Save the date for Kingston Voluntary Action (KVA)'s next exciting Health and Wellbeing Network event, with plenty of opportunities for discussion, to ask questions and express your views

The Health and Wellbeing Network brings together VCSE organisations to discuss all things related to improving the health of our communities. This includes updates from our public sector health partners such as RBK Public Health and South West London ICB, as well as our community sector promoting all the good work they are doing or have available to support your groups. This will be a 2 hour face-to-face session, with time for networking afterwards.

Agenda:

09.30: Arrival and refreshments
10.00: Welcome, housekeeping and outline of the day - Emma Hill, Deputy CEO / Health Programmes Manager KVA
10.10 -10.40: Iona Lidington / Katharine Dallas - Director of Public Health at Royal Borough of Kingston will be joining us to present the newly launched Joint Strategic Needs Assessment published by RBK
10.40 -11.00: Odette Battarel - New CEO of Kingston Association of the Blind will be promoting eye-health information sessions that are available for the community, including a short eye yoga exercise session for all to participate in.
11.00 - 11.20: Rachel Payne – Project Lead at Voices of Hope will be telling us about their Active Breathing Course (ABC)
11.20 – 12.00: Tara Ferguson-Jones - Community Voices Kingston.

Community Voices Kingston want to gather insight on experiences of health and care services with a hope to improving local services. They want to hear from those most likely to experience health inequalities and the worst health outcomes to try and capture voices we don’t typically hear from.

To achieve this, Healthwatch Kingston and Kingston Voluntary Action have joined with Community Voices Kingston, to work in partnership to engage our local communities. The session will cover:

  • Introduction to Community Voices Kingston (CVK) and how it links to the Kingston Place Committee and discussion about how we can work with the network.
  • Share some of our Kingston Place partners engagement (using the latest engagement assurance report)
  • Gather from members any feedback/experiences of local health and care services they are hearing from their networks/clients (early warning).

12.00 - 12.30: Close and networking opportunity
