About this event
What is being a Dementia Friend?
A Dementia Friends session takes approximately 1 hour and is delivered by an Alzheimer’s Society Dementia Ambassador. During this friendly and interactive session, you'll learn more about dementia, how it affects a person and what you can do to help people living with dementia in your community.
Becoming a Dementia Friend simply means finding out more about how dementia affects a person – and then, armed with this understanding, doing small everyday things that help. For example, being patient in a shop queue, or spending time with someone you know who’s living with dementia. Big or small, every action counts!
This session is open to anyone, and all participants become a 'Dementia Friend' and receive a badge and action card.
