The NHS in south west London is reminding residents that services remain open over the Easter bank holiday weekend.
In a life-threatening emergency always call 999. If you are told to go to hospital, please go straight away. The NHS will help you get the care you need.
If your health issue is non-life threatening, use 111.nhs.uk and you will be directed to the most appropriate service, which could include a pharmacy, urgent treatment centre or GP practice.
For anyone needing mental health support over the break, the advice is to call NHS 111 and select the mental health option. A specially-trained NHS mental health professional will provide immediate guidance.
Pharmacies offer help and advice for many minor illnesses. Under the pharmacy first scheme they can also provide treatment for seven common conditions without you needing to see a GP.
Your pharmacy may have different opening hours during the bank holidays. Search ‘find a pharmacy NHS’ for details of which are open near you.
If you need dental treatment for an urgent problem this bank holiday, such as severe toothache, a broken tooth, persistent bleeding or swelling, use 111.nhs.uk to access the urgent dental service, 24/7. You will be offered local treatment if needed.
Some GP services are open over the bank holiday weekend but if your practice is closed, use NHS 111. If an appointment is needed, you may be offered one nearby service.
Remember, you can order repeat medication using the NHS app for collection from your pharmacy after the bank holiday.
