London Safeguarding Voices needs you!

We are looking to recruit two more volunteers from Kingston to not only make safeguarding adults better in Kingston, but across London too.

Who are we?

A group of people with a variety of lived experience from very different London boroughs. We’re funded by the London Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (LondonADASS) and supported by Healthwatch Kingston.

What do we do?

We discuss current safeguarding issues and work together, sometimes with professionals, to improve safeguarding practices across London. We also help plan the annual London Safeguarding Adults Board Conference to ensure it is relevant to people like us, as well as to safeguarding professionals.

‘Safeguarding is everyone’s business, and we make sure that everyday people like us know what safeguarding adults really means.’

Meetings

  • relaxed and informal
  • effective but FUN
  • a safe space. We use our own experience to inform discussions and actions, but there’s no obligation to share personal experiences unless you want to
  • happen monthly…but we know people have busy lives and responsibilities, so people are welcome to attend as and when they can.
  • we meet virtually via Zoom to allow those with mobility concerns to join us without travelling

YOU ARE WELCOME TO COME TO A TRIAL MEETING, without commitment, to see if it’s right for you.
