Healthwatch Kingston works closely with people who have a learning disability. We work to amplify their voices within health and social care services, and advocate for their needs to shape services to meet their requirements.

We encourage individuals with learning disabilities, as well as their families, carers, and advocates, to become involved in our work.

The All Age Learning Disability Partnership Board (AALDPB)

The board is co-chaired by Healthwatch Kingston and people with a learning disability.

It is made up of professionals who commission and deliver services, and individuals with a learning disability, and their families, carers, and advocates. Together, we ensure that the Learning Disability Strategy is being implemented and work towards improving services. The board meets every two months.

The All Age Learning Disability Partnership Board also organises community events.

Over 100 people attended our Health and Wellbeing community event at the Searchlight Centre in September 2022. We provided an opportunity for networking and socialising, and had various information resources for families and individuals with learning disabilities. There were activities focused on supporting good health and wellbeing, such as sports and music.

Want to get involved?

We are looking for individuals living with a learning disability, their families, carers, and advocates, as well as service providers and other professionals, to join us in this important work.
