We know this is a challenging time with increasing costs for everyone, but there is support available for people struggling over the festive period, below you can find advice and information, of cost of living support and details on local Kingston food banks and community fridges.

There are small grants available to help shape and develop an anti-racist health and care system in South West London. ​Kingston Race and Equalities Council (KREC), in partnership with South West London (SWL) health and care partners is working to develop anti-racist approaches to health and care. This programme is an opportunity to ensure that the voices of minoritised communities are heard and that their experiences inform real change.

Healthwatch Kingston (HWK) champions better standards of care in socially funded health and social care services. This report presents the findings of the HWK Authorised Representatives’ visit to Sherwood Grange Care Home (Sherwood Grange). Sherwood Grange is situated in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames (RBK) and is one of the homes run by Care UK.

Healthwatch Kingston welcomed local people to our December Open Meeting, which focused on cold weather services for vulnerable people and we learned about winter services for rough sleepers.

There was also an update from the All Age Learning Disability Partnership Board and Involve, and from the Autism and ADHD Partnership Board.

Our team provided an update about Healthwatch Kingston's Including Communities and Including Digitally Excluded community engagement reports and recommendations and we concluded with highlights from the project work of Youth Out Loud! (our group of young Healthwatchers).

Healthwatch England's new research reveals that most people have misconceptions about their 'right' to an NHS dentist and want major changes.

The London Safeguarding Adults Board (LSAB) Conference, organised by the LSAB Conference Steering Group, took place during National Adult Safeguarding Awareness Week (Weds 20th November 2024). The series of presentations included the topics; Second National SARs Review, NHS Case Review Tracker, Neglect and Acts of Omission, Domestic Abuse and Transitional Safeguarding.

This family run home (since 1986) has recently been passed onto a younger generation.

This visit was undertaken by Authorised Representatives at Healthwatch Kingston upon Thames (HWK). This visit was undertaken as one of 18 visits to be undertaken across 15 care homes in Kingston as agreed with Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames (RBK) and Kingston Care Governance Board (KCGB).
