    I am a classically trained musician and music teacher. I love going to the theatre and music concerts. I have been living with a mental health condition for 15 years.

    I’m a mum to a fifteen-year-old daughter, and I work in mental health for the charity Mind. I also live with Bipolar Disorder. In my spare time I love spending time with dogs and drinking tea.

    I love art and design as well as broadcasting, which I learned at the BBC in Birmingham, many moons ago. That’s where I grew up. Depression hit me in 2008 during the economic downturn where life got really difficult.

    I am a bespoke tailor and I enjoy photography as a hobby, using mainly film cameras. I have suffered from anxiety since the age of 11 and have post traumatic stress disorder from two separate incidents.

    I love to sing. It’s my therapy. I sing in the Sisterhood Choir at the Kingsgate Church.
    I was diagnosed with ADHD at 47.

    Goal setting helps me to develop an action plan which encourages me to carry out my tasks. It helps me to motivate myself during challenging and uncertain times we are going through.

    Through therapy, I have learnt to implement various tools to help me control my anxiety, panic attacks, and feelings of discomfort, and through trial and error I have found the ones that fit best for me and would like to share them with you.

    Sticking to some sort of routine has really helped me stay focused and has been a healthy way to cope with any anxiety that this uncertain time can cause. A routine can include simple things, like brushing your teeth and getting dressed.

    Having lived in Kingston for many years, I'm currently a Royal Borough of Kingston councillor focussing on community mental health. I have battled depression for much of my adult life but thankfully I now feel more in control of my mental wellbeing.

    The Council (RBK) has been exploring setting up new ‘Wellbeing’ teams to provide a more ‘person-focused’ support for people requiring care at home. We aimed to find out what home care service users thought of the proposed changes.
